Download 10 MB XLSX file for testing
Use the one-sheet workbook for upload and reader checks. The preset is 10 MiB (10,485,760 bytes); choose MB for decimal megabytes.
1 MB = 1,000,000 B · 1 MiB = 1,048,576 B
Advanced: test an upload limit
Enter the byte limit above, then choose one byte below, the exact limit or one byte above. Each choice uses the same base: 10,485,760 B. Generate and download each file to test your endpoint.
Where a 10 MB XLSX comes up
- Testing import screens that accept Excel files up to 10 MB.
- Checking Java backends that use Spring Boot multipart defaults.
- Verifying that file-type validation looks inside the package, not just at the extension.
Limits it lands on
- Spring Boot's default max-request-size of 10MB is exceeded by this workbook plus its multipart envelope.
- Discord's 10 MB free limit makes it a boundary case for sharing.
What is inside the file
One worksheet with a title cell and a number cell, plus a binary part declared in [Content_Types].xml that holds the padding. Excel, LibreOffice Calc, Numbers and openpyxl open it.
Because the padding is outside the sheet data, opening it is fast even though the file is large.
