What this covers

ByteRivet (https://byterivet.com) is a set of file tools: a test-file generator and a collection of image/PDF/conversion tools. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use them.

File processing

The generator and most image, PDF and conversion tools process file content on your device without uploading it to ByteRivet. This implementation of Office to PDF and PDF to Office uses a server conversion engine and uploads the selected file over HTTPS. Analytics, support and optional Google Drive or Dropbox imports have separate data flows.

Analytics and cookies

Pages load Google Analytics (GA4) to measure site use. Analytics can send page addresses, device and interaction information to Google and may use cookies. Generator events report format, byte count, duration and download-link clicks, not file content. A download click does not establish that a file finished saving. File processing in the browser does not mean the page makes no network requests.

Server logs

Like effectively every website, requests to this site pass through our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which retains standard connection-level logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) for a limited period for security and reliability purposes. We don't separately collect or store this information ourselves.

File-upload tools

Office to PDF and PDF to Office upload files to our conversion service. Source deletion is attempted after processing; results become eligible for queue cleanup after 15 minutes or are deleted after their first download. Queue operation determines actual cleanup timing. Job records include the original filename and error metadata; failed records have no verified automatic deletion schedule. See Security for details.

The contact form

Submitting /contact/ sends the name (optional), email, message, selected subject and tool, and basic browser and operating-system context to the support system. The system also uses a hashed IP value for rate limiting. Automatic deletion of support tickets has not been verified; contact us to request correction or deletion.
