Where a 20 MB JPG comes up
- Uploading an oversized product photo to Shopify to check the admin error.
- Testing Telegram bots that need to download images users send.
- Simulating a high-resolution camera export for photo-sharing apps.
Limits it lands on
- Shopify accepts images up to 20 MB (and 20 megapixels); this file is at the size limit while its 800 × 600 pixels stay well within the resolution limit.
- Telegram bots can only download files up to 20 MB via getFile, so this is the largest image a bot can retrieve.
- Gmail sends it as an attachment (25 MB limit), though the encoded message is about 28 million bytes.
What is inside the file
About 320 comment segments fill the space between the JPEG header and the image data.
Because the picture stays 800 × 600, decoding is cheap — useful for testing size checks without memory spikes.
Questions
Will Shopify reject it for resolution?
No. Shopify's limit is 20 megapixels; this image is 0.48 megapixels. Only the file size is at the limit.
Can I make it higher resolution?
Enter larger width and height values in the generator; the file is still padded to exactly 20 MB.
